Where I've been...

Well as I stated at the end of my last article, I have a new job. This job I LOVE. It's not that it's just plain easy... or that I get paid well to basically stand around... but most of the people I work with are awesome people.
I work now at a beautiful store in the Venetian hotel-resort-casino's Canal Shoppes. It's a beautifully designed and made gold store, that has most everything you could think of golf-related... except clubs and balls
Well we do have golf clubs just not many, only like 3 sets of Callaway irons and a few Callaway drivers... nothing major....We have golf balls also.. but nothing you'd really want to use on the golf course cept to show off with and as a goof....
I'm a cashier at this job, and as part of that position I get to talk to many many people from many many different nationalities. What has striked me the most often as odd is just how trusting a lot of them are. I get MANY foriegners who will come into the shop and buy a $3.76 golf ball, and hand me a hundred with a quizicle look wondering if that is enough. I have to give them a thumbs up (basically a universal sign from what I've learned) and then go and give them this huge pile of change and they seem to give me this incredulous look like I'm overpaying them. Totally mystifies me... I sure know that before I went to another country I'd be sure to have researched their money some so I would at least be able to tell if I was getting ripped off or not.
And it seems that of all the nationalities, the British annoy me the most (sorry sal... =( ). I get about 5-10 times a day some british chap coming in and saying "Do you have the Ryder cup by chance?".... I've gotten used to that and everytime now respond "No, but we do have this British open champ signed ball by "insert non-british name here" or just some other comment asking about the last time a British person won the British open...
I really can't much say I hate the British though.. they just seem to be the ones that annoy me most. I've talked to a lot of people from Manchester recently whom I had like hour long conversations with each about just things in general and were really likeable chaps.
I've also gotten to talk to a few celebs that have come through the store
It's kinda nice when your working at basically the #1 golf memorabilia store in the nation...
But alas it keeps me really busy... with 60 hour work weeks and then drunken/stoned outtings with my co-workers keeps me away from the computer a-lot and I don't get much time to keep in touch here on JU.....Heck.. now that I think of it I havn't called my parents since like 3 weeks ago after I got the job..... I better be a smart boy and go call them....
Later all, keep safe, and I do still lurk in my free time, I just havn't been in much of a responsive mood...
