Calling in sick is not an option!

It seems that calling in sick is not an option at my job.

I called in today with a bad tummy, and was told it would count as a unexcused absence.

It made me mad that I sat on hold for 30 minutes to talk to a manager, to be told I get the same consequences as a no call no show.

I am now offically on the look for a new job. I need to quit this job soon before I lose any more weight. Any tips?

Janders: I'm sorry to hear about this. That does suck. I used to work as a manager/photographer for a portrait studio, and since I was the sole person working there, I NEVER got to call in sick. The job was so fun but so stressful and draining. Yuck. I hope you find something good.

the sooner you can find a job somewhere else, the better.  when ailing employees are forced to work, the employer isnt getting their full benefit and theyre likely to infect their coworkers.

Go in when sick and stand really close to his desk to talk to him, then vomit profusely>
that will show him that he needs to rethink his call in policy. And if he is a sympathetic puker,
he will do it too.
just make sure you act like you are reaching for the trash can when you let rip.

I've done this, it works great. Ever since a week long bout of the stomach flu in college, I've been able to puke at will. Was working at a shoneys for a summer job the next year, and they wouldn't let me go home when I got sick, so I waited until the regional manner came in that afternoon and yakked all over his shoes. Sadly, even this doesn't always work in the army....sigh.

I like geezer's idea. Make sure you eat something that'll leave good quality chunks beforehand, though...
