Ok guys, to answer your questions:

Yes, Novocastrian stands for newcastle upon tyne. I'm half french half italian but live in the UK and also a big fan of NUFC, so I have to balance my passion for europe with my passion for the team. So here is the deal: I'll change the empire's name to European Alliance (or something else, we'll need a vote) once more people join.

Forget about the UN: our mission is precisely to create a bipolar system, s the rule of international lore obviously is not being respected.

We're now the largest AND have the youngest player, did he start out on crippling difficulty level or are you training him a lower level right now?

Hmmm, it seems in order to become the spotlight empire we're gonna have to take first place overnight ... oh well, just a matter of time then :)

I've tried staying away from the Top 5 empires in the Weekly Spotlight Empire, mainly because everyone is already doing so well. My main goal with the Spotlight Empire is to encourage recruitment and participation, which the smaller empires need more.

As was decided today in the European Senate the peace proposal received from the ANZAC Imperium was accepted. As we noticed that an empire completely at peace is rather boring and as a way to further motivate our people it was decided to declare war on the Mid-Western Confederation.

So watch out corn farmers we got a craving for some popcorn!!

Metaverse Review Special Report

Before the ink was dry on the declaration of peace signed between the European Alliance and ANZAC Imperium, the bloodthirsty European Senate voted today to declare war on the Mid-Western Confederation. Sources inside the European Alliance tell the Metaverse Review that the Mid-Western Confederation represented the next hurdle on their way to the top of the Metaverse and needed to be dealt with. Anti-war protestors in Paris declared a "peace-in", but were quickly dispersed with water cannons and rubber bullets, by order of the Euro Emperor, G-Force. A demonstration in front of the MWC Embassy in Antwerp by an estimated crowd of 10,000 was told they should go home, since their demonstrations would do nothing to sway the European Alliance's thirst for power.

Meanwhile, farmers were scurrying from the fields to ready for battle. The tractors are being converted into tanks and plowshares are being beaten into swords. Stores are being boarded up in preparation for any sudden attacks by Euro forces.

Governments have issued decrees to their embassies warning them of possible hostilities and some have evacuated the country.

Well i finish my 1.11 game. Will submit tomorrow and started 1.12. :CONGRAT:

I got of to a great start - just in the center. Grabbed 4 systems with a total of 7 planets (and 4 influence ressources). I have gotten the AI's of to war while i try to catch up on research.

So far the only change i think i have experienced is that the battle between the AI's seems to be more equal know. Whether that is pure luck or because they have gotten smarter is hard to say so soon.
