Research Queue

A nice feature available in Civ3 is the ability to queue up research projects by picking the tech you ultimately want. In other words, if I chose to research Monarchy the game would automatically queue up any unresearched prerequesite techs.

Does GalCiv have a feature like this?

OK, so there is no auto researching of prerequisites.

Is there a research queue that you can put serveral different items in, each being researched in the order in which they are placed?

There are no research list, you have to select what next you want to research after each is complete.
Althoug I tend to research a regular path, you have to optimize it at each opportunity, including changing what you a researching before it finishes depending on how the game develops.
The games are sufficiently different that it you need to re-evaluate.

If you dont do this you will not maximize your results.

I think a little difference in GalCiv compared to Civ is that in Civ u allready know what all the techs are and which prerequests they have (u allready have the Techtree) while in GalCiv u don't. U can try to memorise them though :) But hence there is no queue posible.

1). The link posted by ressu is a rather thorough document on the Galciv tech tree. It is all there with the possible exception of the bonus pack (I have not been able to reach him to ask, but I believe he is getting this ready). This document is provided by a beta tester, not Stardock, so there is sometimes a little delay in getting it updated.

The CIV3 like ability to select a "path of research" sounds like a good suggestion, but I think most people would find it less useful in actual use on Galciv. I find I have to be much more flexible with my tech research strategy from game to game than I did no CIV3.

There's also the problem of the different alignments to take into consideration. Different techs become available to the player depending on choices made during each game.
