Playing in higher resolutions

Can anyone tell me how to play the game in full screen at a higher resolution than 1024*768.
The helpfile supplied with the game seems to indicate it is possible to play at a higher resolution but does not tell you how?
I've downloaded the windows version but when you load that you do not get full screen....
Any help greatly appreciated.

The game is fixed at 1024*768.

If the resolution is fixed why does the games help file mention all the other resolutions?
