Constant CTD

Does anyone else have the problem where the game crashes during diplomatic negotiations, when you go to press the "amount" slider?

Doesn't do it all the time tho....

After several hours of playing this seems to occur regulary. Try a restart of your computer, sometimes that helps. (and I'd recommend autosave more often than all 12 turns)

:notsure: After all this time (since release) i just had my first CTD at the planetary management screen. I had like 15 planets, had just tweeked them all, and when i closed the screen...BAM. I didn't save for awhile, sleepy, but lucky for me the autosave(12 turns) saved the last turn :sniff!:

If you guys have reproducable crashes, send the saved game files, along with a description on how to crash the game, to [email protected] and [email protected], and we'll be able to get those bugs squashed. ;)

I have a private build that I've made that if you can email me your SmartException log I'll be able to find out what it is.

One thing I have learned is that for some reason some machines are running out of stack space with regards to the negotiation slider thingy (the money one). I haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

But I have made an updated build that has a lot of internal fixes that if you send me the SmartException crash log (from SDC go to free goodies and install that) I can find out what line it died on or ask one of the developers to look at it (it's not MY code ).

It also uses a different MP3 system (I think it does anyway, I'm at home and haven't checked out every last code change). So it may solve problems for those who have had probellms due to sound driver issues.
