Crashes Upon Leaving Diplomatic Screen

This is a repeatable crash bug on my system, and it seems to occur exclusively when I initiate negotiations with an alien race (might be exclusive to minors too actually) by clicking on the "Speak To" button while I am examining their star systems. If I speak with them through other means (e.g. F5) nothing abnormal will happen. Does anyone have similar experiences?

I have a somewhat similar experience when Major Races contact me for diplomacy. Sometimes when clicking 'Reject' the game will just crash straight to the desktop. I don't have a reproduceable case, but I have seen this at least 6 times on my machine.

Ah yes, I remember those crashes too. In my case, they happen most frequently if I purposely spoil the deal by demanding something outrageous and sending the offer, then choosing the "Leave" option instead (the "Reject" option will no longer be available).
