Could we have the option of furthur playing the game after we win?

I sometimes like to play turn based games even after I win. Sorta like how Civilization 3 does. Could we be given the option of playing furthur into the game even though we have either gotten the alliance or control a certain amount of the galaxy or whatever?

Yes, very please. In my first game, I won by accident via research, it pissed me off alot then that I couldn't use my new superiour knowledge to crush those tiny peon races! :)

Yes, I didn't think a cultural victory would be so easy, but just as I was poised to conquer the galaxy, the galaxy just sort of said, we love you, and that was it.

I always thought if you turned off tech victory that Final Frontier should give you impressive bonuses, after all your race just became godlike. :D

Perhaps 20% or even 30% percent bonuses in 3 or 4 important categories. I dunno I just think it should mean something to hit the end of the tech line, but want to keep playing.

how about you guys take off all victory options and then military conquest is your only way... leave some enemy planets around and the game wont end that way...

*** Triple BUMP ***

I loved this feature with the Sid Meier games. Added a *LOT* to the replaying and overall fun factor! :D

Yup, it's a damn shame to spend hours building the perfect empire only to toss it away after winning...
I would REALLY enjoy fighting small and random appearing races,( protecting the ones I like and wasting the others), or fighting a really really hard battle... agains planet overcrowding...I can already see myself desperately colonizing class 1 planets while waiting for a random race to pop up with a nice planet....
:) LOL

It's impossible and they won't do it. Or something.

My Veteran tag means I know these things. Also, the sky is green and the Matrix is real.

Now STOP BUMPING THIS THREAD. ;)

Well, I have to admit I would sometimes like to continue playing... just to see what would happen. I was trying to have a military victory (with the Pacifists, go figure... Evil Pacifists, to boot), and I conquered everybody except the Yor (who were in a far corner that only included about 6 planets). Just as my stack of Corvettes and Transports (who had 20 ATT, thanks to the U.P.) were getting close, I got the cultural victory cinematic. Noooo! :D

I could just set it to only allow military victory, but I want the AI to be able to win in other ways, too. (I'm assuming that setting affects the AI as well as you.)

"I want the AI to be able to win in other ways, too. (I'm assuming that setting affects the AI as well as you.)"

The AI can't win a tech victory (there is no "Beyond Yor" or equivalent tech for them to research), but AFAIK the other rules re: alliances and culture apply to them as well. I can't speak from experience, though, as all the games I've lost have been thorough military trouncings.

The AI can win through conquest and (I think) culture, but not through alliance or tech.

The AI players are capable of winning a technology victory. As proof, I will show the following spoiler in Data\English.str:

[StoryTechLoss] The scientists of the %s have made the invention of hyper-drive look like making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They have used their superior technological knowledge to control the evolution of their people, who are now as gods. All shall tremble before their greatness.

The name "Beyond Human" is a bit misleading, as there is no restriction on AI players researching or receiving this tech. And naturally, I wouldn't even be suprised if an AI player would be willing to give it to other players...

P.S. ****BUMP****
