Help - My planets are oscillating

Once i start taking enemy planets, I have a group of highly developed home worlds, and a group of new conquests. So I build a few morale things on the new planets, and adjust taxes. BUT this leaves my home planets with super high morale (90-100%) - so their populations grow - until their morale drops and I eventually vent some population - which makes their morale super high again, and the whole thing repeats. :sniff!:

From what I read on the Forum, I am lowering their populations too far :: anyone got any guidance on the "stable" population for different PQ values?

I don't rightly know the exact percentage, but you could figure it out like this:

1) the first time you ship off population, note how much it is: try for 10% just to make things easier to calculate.

2) wait too see how much morale is affected next turn and see how many turns it takes to get back to the morale level you had at step one.

3) repeat the process with shipping off twice as much population or half as much. Note the results to get an idea. You may have to do this multiple times in order to shake out other factors you may not be noticing.

Pax Ex and happy hunting. ;)

Oh, bugger. I misread your question. I'm not sure whether morale improvements have an effect empire-wide at all. There might be something else going on.
