Becoming pure evil or pure good

I can play a game for hours and hours and still not become pure evil and on the few games I was good pure good. Any advice. Is this in the Right Forum :notsure:

To become a "pure" morality requires one to either (1)play longer games or bigger maps to ensure having lots of colonization events and random events and to always choose the same morality.

or

(2) download the Saint Pack event mod by Matthew Downie that has events that have larger penalities and thus great morality shifts reducing overall number of events needed for "pure" moralities.

Got the download should try it.

The instructions say you need to over write the existing events.

Seems strange you think downloading the events in the "Mod" folder would work.

It won't since the game looks in the data folder firest, then in the mod folder. If you have the "same" files there it will use the ones it found first

Ancestor.pcx is found in:

Human Origins? event by Pierre-Luc Hebert uploaded 4/17/03

event_gtcolonyday01.pcx is found in:

Colonization Days event by georget uploaded 4/17/03

Search Hebert and georget while in library to find downloads.

I'm not sure if it's changed with the latest AP build, but if you submitted a game with alignment 0-10 you were Pure Evil, 11-40 Chaotic Evil, 41-59 Neutral, 60-89 Chaotic Good, and 90-100 Pure Good. You can check your aligment on the 'Stats' page under society.

Yeah, I put a message in the Fellowship forum asking what the default .pcx files were, but no-one replied.

I haven't a clue about this. I assumed that you'd need to replace the standard files to make sure they weren't used. Icho sounds confident so I'll take his word for it.

It will work a bit better than normal - there is a hidden morality shift multiplier in all events. I set it to 5, the maximum, in every case.

In the light of this feedback, I may now do a new version with extra PCX files and improved evil functionality.

LOL LOL LOL That's what I want! Improved evil functionality! LOL LOL LOL

Actually, I would like to try it out. I play small maps and some games it's just too hard to get enough evil events. :)

It's been approved now. The Saints and Sinners event pack. The main upgrades are more dramatic Evil options, the two missing graphics files, and the kitten graphic has been edited so he's now doing a Vulcan salute. Good players who've got the right graphics won't be gaining much. Evil players get to be evil quicker, and they get bigger bonuses along the way. (I wish I was evil.)

Still takes a while to get to Pure Evil... When I played a game to test it out in a small abundant galaxy, I only got one event in an evening's play.

Extreme alignment needs long games, at least in the unmodified game. So, one can go for a big map and/or play with the aliens longer than usual to get the random non-colonization events to bump the alignment. A big downfall to cranking strategies so popular in today's Metaverse is brevity: short and quick, with rare planets and don't dally too long past 2190, collect the points, rinse, and repeat. I should say that WAS a big downfall to the cranking strategies if mods make extreme alignments happen so much faster.

Cranking is not my style, though. The mods with extra alignment picks will be nice, but it does lead to a question of whether one is playing for getting a certain result quickly (both in score and alignment in this case). Just Gerakken muttering his silliness about taking time playing the game to enjoy smelling the flowers so to speak. (Or stealing or swindling them from hapless aliens in my case.)

I think your alignment at the start of each game should be your metaverse alignment.(as an option)

That way if your trend towards an alignment you can maintain it. :HOT:
