4d? I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be beta 5, with the new victory condition enabled. It would be cool to see the last major feature (apart from AI) make it into this beta. After all, that has been announced for a while now.

The beta is taking shape very nicely (thanks SD), but hopefully the release will be made in April. I agree that a new schedule would not be a bad idea.

There isn't going to be a beta release today. Atleast, thats what GreenReaper said to me about an hour ago when I asked about it.

They are looking really busy over at Sins of Solar Empires website what with them hitting number ones on many fronts (Congratualations Stardock and Ironclad!!), so it's bound to be a little slow over here. I just hope they don't forget us :SNIFF!: ( I don't think so, just being overly dramatic :p Go Stardock!)

Are those 1500 guests just on the galciv forums, or the Stardock forums in general? If it's the latter they're here for Sins of a Solar Empire, not the TA beta :)

It's amazing what a little TV airtime and a TON of good customer service will get you these days.  Could this be a model for the corporation of the future? Actually LISTENING to what your customers have to say??  :SURPRISED:

Well I wish them the most with Sins of Solar Empires GO Stardock And Ironclad and ConGrats too!! :D

I've never liked RTS games but I think I might like Sins. In any case I'll be buying a copy as soon as it's in stock locally. Stardock has proven to be worth taking a chance on.

Personally I think Stardock gets too much praise some times. Yes there pretty good at advertising there products but they definitely could be better at keeping us customers informed. Would it really be so hard to take a min to say sorry guys theres no beta today or are they too busy geting ****ed celebrating solar sins success? There isn't a Stardock rep or a moderator on the GalCiv2 forums nearly enough for my liking.

Anyway i'm glad sins is a success. I won't be buying it because i'm not interested in RTS games but the money they make from it should allow them to have a larger budget for Gal Civ3 for example and other things I might be interested in.

Correct!!

Yea I picked up a gamer hardware mag today which has a full-page ad for SoaSE with a reviewers quote describing it as something like "GalCiv meets Homeworld". But personally had my fill of RTS games and getting old enough to enjoy playing the banjo and watching the grass grow between hitting the turn button.

I do not think Stardock wrote SoaSE only published/distributed it. Am I wrong about that?
Nope. They are the publishers indeed. But they probably talked about stuff with Ironclad and guided them (sounds so cliché) and they were responsible for marketing (most probably) and published it. So without them, no game. Thank God EA didn't get their grimy hands on the game. Brrrr.

Yeah, thank god indeed.

I still have nightmares from the Userfriendly cartoon after EA bought Bioware - "Neverwinter Nights 2008"...

It's SINS' time in the limelight right now :), once things settle down i think you can expect more from the beta updates.

I have been just swamped these past few weeks and I leave every day feeling like I didn't get enough done, and I can guarantee you that no one here has been celebrating instead of working.  We're just very busy.  I probably should have made a post on the forums yesterday, but I was very involved in debugging a problem right up until I left and by that time I had forgotten about it.

There will be no update this week.

As a fellow developer I understand this feeling quite well and I (and a lot of other people) really appreciate the work you've put into the game.
