Did any one else know, you can put your own pics and insignias

I just registered so i dont know if any one else knows, but has ne one tried to put their own pictures and their own insignias on the game? I just recently discovered that it was possible.

But one issue that i am having with some of the game's own portraits, especially with the minor races, is that on Dark Avatar they get stretched on the window and dont look very realistic anymore. Is there any way to fix that?

The best insignias have a transparent background, programs such as Photoshop will allow you to do this. Or you can just browse the Library on here.

yes there is. You'll need two images, one for your portrait and another for the trade window. The portraits need to be 256x256; for the trade images you'll need the same image labeled "Custom_trade" (where 'custom' is the same name as your portrait) and having dimensions of 393x256 ((a widescreen presentation))

Save these files in your My Documents/My Games/Dark Avatar/Gfx/portraits

The game will automatically search for these trade pics when you load up the game.

I'm seeing those stretched-out portraits in the contact window also. They've been there ever since the DA expansion, I think, and the TA beta still does it. On my system it only happens with the static portraits for minor races. The animated major race portraits all look fine.

I'm running the game at 1600x1200 resolution... maybe it happens at some resolutions and not others? Or is everyone seeing this?

it always happens. This is because the Trade Window is NOT at 256x256. It was designed for the trade movies, not static pictures. You can get it to look "right" by changing the photo's resolution to the widescreen version I stated above.
