Odd Behavior After Loading Saved Game

I just bought GCII Gold Edition two days ago. It's great!

I loaded up a saved game yesterday, though, and something odd happened. Compared to when I'd saved the game, my borders had noticably shrunk, as if I'd lost a lot of influence. Also, the science advisor/newscaster had changed from a blue, male robot to a brown, female robot. Everything else appeared to be OK! (I could continue the game, but with less influence.)

Has anyone seen this behavior before or know how it might be fixed?

I'm running the version of DA 1.80g.100, dated 2/1/2008. (The debug.err file is dated from the day before the odd behavior happened, so the game didn't detect any problems?) Just before loading the game, I had changed anti-aliasing from 0 to 1 and changed planet surface variety from 50% to 100%.
Later, I tried loading an Autosave that occured ~10 minutes before my saved game, but it had the same odd behavior (though appeared to have otherwise correctly saved the slightly earlier state of the game).
Thanks.

The influence lines aren't properly calculated upon loading a game. After a round or two it'll go back to normal. I think it was something to do with passive bonuses not being calculated or something /shrug. If I have a game that it's really important to have the influence line correct ASAP I'll leave a constructor loose to build a star base. Upon building that, the game re-checks influence and the lines will correct themselves. Mine as well leave that star base up for the next load because destroying one has the same result as making one :)

Thanks for the reply. That's good news about the influence going back to normal after awhile.

Any idea why the robotic newscaster would've changed? That is mainly just weird. :-)

If I remember correctly, the robot change is alignment-specific with some races. Have you by chance changed your alignment recently (via Xeno Ethics)?

Interesting. I was making all "good" choices in the ethical dilemmas this game, so maybe, as you say, the robot changed because of that and it was just a coincidence that I noticed the other glitch at the same time.
Thanks.
