Frequent crashes

I'm finding it impossible to finish a game because no matter which race, what's being researched or built, some time after 300 turns, TA crashes and I get the message that it's stopped working.

I'm using Vista so are any other vista uses getting the same problem?

Do you have a ATI graphics card? If so check or set your card
settings to basic default for everything.

Run the TA game with the default 4x anti aliasing.

Try this and see about more crashing.

Also, think about d/l SmartException.exe from Stardock
and see if this exe running in the background affects
your crashing.

Open the Stardock Central Manager, at the top left pull down networks,
select freestuff then Smartexception to download (d/l).

Any progress one way or another with this issue and SmartException? If SmartException is not picking up the crash or writing its report, you may need to run it directly as an administrator.
