Still no information about multiplayer?

not going to happen

Yeah, the last word is a long thread somewhere around here: "The case for no multiplayer." Since it's not an advertised feature for ToTA, and ToTA is in feature lock, no way it'll happen in ToTA.

Yeah, what they said.

Can't blame him for hoping though. I mean I'm not big on multiplayer for these games, but I certainly wouldn't turn it down either.

The mapeditor is nice, but it has some problems.

First, you cannot create/import custom ships on the map. Next, I find it kind of hard to use. Mostly with deleting stuff though. Thirdly, the randomizer needs doing. You should be able to set how you want it done. Like how you set up a galaxy regulary; tight clusters, planet numbers, asteroids, minors(maybe), habitable planets, anomolies. Finally, there needs to be a way to customize a planet. Put bonus tiles on it or put improvements on it.

Also, when you build a starbase you should be able to put what improvements are on it. Choosing what techs a race has researched should also be included.

Exactly the same thoughts I had. Especially the last part with customizing planets.

I found something I don't like about the editor.

In my custom map of the Milkyway, I needed someway to judge distance so I assigned each square a value of 0.2 LY. for this map it suits me. So to put Sol in the center I assigned it the coordinates [11,11], [165,165].

This puts Sol on the corner of a sector. Problem. I can't place planets next to each other or in the adjorning sector. But I can place asteroids in the nearby sector. I can only place 4 planets in my solar system.

This is very annoying.
