Semi-major bug with 'other races'

Every race, it doesn't matter who or what or when, can tell anyone to declare war on anyone, even if they've never met them. It's easily testable. Start a new game, find someone to talk to (or even ctrl-T for the 'Hail Yourself' cheat), and you can ask them to go to war with any race you've never met.

This is immensely powerful for the Drath. This also effects the AI, as the Drath AIs will start telling everyone to go to war with each other just scant weeks into the game. I'd not even researched Space Militarization and the Iconians were engaged in 4 wars.

lawl! WoW, this could easily be exploitable. If you get the AI to declare war early on I imagine the two civ's now at war will start producing some military ships. This will seriously hert both the civs early expansion giving neighboring civs the chance to take advantage (unless they too are at war). Now what difficulty are you one, because I haven't experienced this personally. In my current game Im almost 2 years in, and theres only been 2 wars (this could be though because the Drath were somewhat cut off from everyone else).

I play on Challenging / Tough. They aren't USUALLY so fast to start wars, but they've had their moments... and it's always the Iconians they use the most.

And yes, when they start a war like that, they instantly start making 'defenders', that usually have no weapons at all.

I personally like waiting a bit, selling some worthless stuff to the Drengin, then forcing them into a war with everyone and watch the horde of Super Dominator corvettes crash their empire.

What I'm wondering is why the AI doesn't ever force the player into wars. It could suck, but if I can do it to AIs, why can't they do it to me? Force me into a dialog screen where they offer me a ton of cash and an order to war, and because they are super manipulators, I have no choice and must accept.

Get the Altarians and the Drath in the same game and it's all war, all the time.
