New beta scheduled for today?

New beta scheduled for today?

Please take pity on a poor OCD person who will be refreshing SDC every 5 minutes later today if the issue remains in doubt ;p

I purchased it when it first came out as a beta. I was not a great fan of it at that stage and as of yet have not gone back to it. Not sure if i ever will to be honest unless the final version comes out with a good tutorial system as i found the game left the player floundering around wondering what to do next.
Thin i will stick to GCII for the foreseeable future :)

Well, might be worth a try just to see what it's like now. :) I mean, you have paid for it.

My point was just with Stardock, you can actually check whether their games are good pre-release because of the pre-order open betas - not just buying yourself, but finding people who have purchased and seeing what they have to say.

Phaedyme is this the bug that causes the game to crash whenever you are invaded or is it a different bug? Thanks

Yes, that's the one. It has been fixed in the newest beta.

Sorry guys, no beta this week. The Team has been doing some play-testing on the Sins Release Candidate, leaving GC2 with only a small handful of tweaks, which we'll roll into the next update.

!!!

Sins of a Solar Empire, huh? Just as a little fan encouragement: I'm really looking forward to that game! It's looking really awesome ::)

The only real adjustment I would make to the Thalans is giving them a stronger end game. Expand their tech tree, make their strongest industry building better than a friggin' Industrial Sector, get their starbase modules fixed and I think they'll be fine.

My first post in this thread:
I was only really impatient for the invasion screen crash bug to be fixed.

And I was. I stopped playing until the patch went up. I do wish the workaround had been described sooner, though.

Yeah, well, people told me Oblivion was good too, and instead of a great sequel to Morrowind, I got a dumbed-down retarded completely contentless Xbox game that had absolutely no talent or a single bit of creativity put in it whatsoever.

heh....IMO

Daggerfall > Morrowind > Oblivion > Arena.

Although I might be biased cause my Morrowind broke in the first expansion. One of the kill the rat quests was bugged on my system, and I couldn't figure out how to force a complete in the game editor.

The weapon enchantments really turned me off of Oblivion. No more permanent weapon enchantments, and you had to continually (like every fight) trap souls to keep them powered....sucked ass.

Clearly, Oblivion wasn't for you. I don't think it's a bad game, but I do agree it wasn't as good as Morrowind.

Anyway, I was making small talk with the question about whether the game was fun. It doesn't seem worth a fuss to me.

Oblivion was a good but not perfect game, many of the user mods for the pc version make it much better.
True that. User mods made it much better.

But I mean, you have games like MoO3 that completely fail expectations, and you have games like Oblivion, which are good right out of the box (but with flaws), and both are improved greatly by user mods. This is a good thing.

I think that Uranium-235's being obnoxiously harsh (obnoxious because of his insistence on using "retarded" as an insult) about how the game didn't meet his expectations. I certainly don't think he was obligated to like it, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a universal condemnation of the game as garbage. I mean, I do not enjoy MoO1, but I'm not going to rant about how it was a stupid game just because I personally dislike it, when so many others do like it.

I mean, unless I want to decide my taste is universal and anyone who disagrees with me must be declared objectively wrong.

Consider it a blessing that I spared you my enormous Oblivion rant.

Don't worry. It couldn't make me dislike you more.
