Spore Ships and Wars

I've never ever played Korath before now, so I have no idea if this is normal, but:

When I use spore ships, I don't get a vote for declaration of war. It's just automatic. More annoyingly, after I claim a world with a spore ship, I'm not automatically taken to the planet to do set up the build queue and such, so I have to go to my Colonies screen in the civ manager and look for planets with zero population.

Also (and this may be intended, I don't know), it doesn't appear that planets captured with spore ships lose buildings that I can't build.

What version? I should play a game to have fun with this before they fix it :)

The latest version.

This happened in DA as well. Possibly the lack of a war vote, as well - I rarely start a war with an invasion, so I wouldn't have noticed. I'd love to see both get fixed.

The only reason that I started this war with invasions (well, spores) is because the stupid Thalan Empire started colonizing worlds in my space and overrunning my influence, but they didn't bother to build enough ships to defend all their worlds.

I mean, when you have that many bugs on your doorstep and all the DDT you could ever hope to use, what are you going to do?

It sounds like this war started fairly early - had you stolen any of the advanced government techs yet (IIRC the Korath don't get them)? If you are still using Imperial government, you won't get a war vote.

You're right, at least about the imperial government. You are incorrect about the Korath not getting advanced government techs. :)

Okay, I never noticed this before: When I spore a capital or a civilization surrenders to me, I keep their civilization capital. The summary screen implies that I still benefit from it, as do those who hit 16b population.

So I currently have my own capital, two other civilization capitals (Altarian, Drath), and two minor civ capitals, and within a few turns I'll have the Thalan capital.

Also, buildings I can't build remain intact when a civilization surrenders to me, as well as when I use spores. I haven't invaded anyone yet, so I don't know how that works out for Korath. The Drathan planets, for example, kept their biosphere modulators.

I'm playing as the Korath now and most improvements I can't build are destroyed. There are exceptions, biosphere modulators, interstellar refineries, central mines . . . basically anything you can't decommission if you build it yourself. It's always been like this whether using spores or normal invasion. Same thing for civ capitals, you've always been able to keep them if captured.
