It's not just one bug.  The missing turn button is (usually) a symptom of problems in the pathfinding/hit detection code and I've been fixing them as I come across them.

If you haven't been sending in your zipped save games then you have no right to complain, and if you have, I will get to it, I promise.

At any rate, take a chill pill and remind yourself that THIS IS A BETA.

I haven't seen it since the last patch.

I'm going to start another protracted game to see if I can make it happen, though. Those games are sooooo tedious, but I hardly ever find bugs otherwise. ;)

Heh. Some people like quick games, some people like slow games. Personally I like to turn off influence victory and then win a conquest victory by flipping all my opponents.

I had the missing turn bug once last night, and it was a pathfinding error. (I've gotten to the point I don't need to reload the game when it happens. Just go into the ship list and space off any ship with movement. Once you clear the ship with the problem, the turn advances.) Hmm...if it happens again, I'll try to isolate it...(i.e., save, click off the ships, but make note of which ship was the one causing the issue, and then mail in the save, with a note saying to pay attention to that ship

It will always hang if you accidentally 'blind' navigate your ship into a star. Happens a lot when I'm using ships to explore. The 'Find' button will not work in these circumstances.

Yep. I can usually find the ship causing the problem in a few seconds by just scanning the map. That exercise was not necessary in prior non-Beta versions of GalCiv II-it was automatic that a ship stood down when you ordered it into a square into which it could not move.

I've now played pretty far into a TA Beta 4a game without experiencing a complete hang up on the turn (either units on the game map becoming unresponsive and/or the turn button "disappearing" because the turn would not process), which was previously caused by AI ships experiencing pathfinding problems among other things as Cari aptly points out above. It looks like to me that the Devs are a good deal farther along with dealing with this bug than they were in Beta 4.

The pause in the game you are experiencing is because there is a long conversation between central command and the ship's captain.

It seems, through some small mistake, than the paperwork back in central command that all ships now have the capabilities to destroy stars. The captains are calling BS as they know they haven't come in for any upgrade of that magnitude. Central is telling them to blow up that sun, the captain is asking him how to do it with mere bullets in his standard issue mass driver weapons.....you get the idea.

So next time when the game freezes due to this, just remember: while you are sitting in your plush computer chair playing a video game, some ship's captain is being told to do a suicide run on a stellar body. Your game freezing really seems small now doesn't it?

Oh, no, I love the slow games. What makes these games tedious is that I just turtle and let them continue rather than do much beyond expand, consolidate, and maintain a sedentary fleet to keep the AI off my back.

Although that's not entirely true, either, as I'm exterminating the Thalan right now. :)
