Yor Super Isolationist Ability

When playing as Yor, I still see the full move numbers on alien ships in my space. Isn't the Yor super isolationist ability supposed to drop moves to 1 for alien ships in Yor space? Does it in fact work properly against the AI or am I not understanding what I see correctly.

Thanks.

It drops to 3. It may take a turn of being in the influence to have an effect.

It does take a turn. When they first come into Yor space, they have their full movement. After a turn, they move at the slower speed.

I actually use this fact to my advantage. I'll park ships outside their influence and then rush in with all of my speed for one turn before hitting the breaks with their imposed limit.

Thanks, I figured that's what was happening, but wasn't sure. Also, for some reason, I thought it was supposed to handicap ships more heavily.

In my opinion it's one of the most powerful special abilities in the entire game. It gives you a lot of control picking the enemy's fleets apart in your territory. If you enhance the chokepoints with military starbases and the warp modules you can decrease the enemy speed to 1, making them basically sitting ducks. Has saved me a couple of times... feels a little like stargate, trapping the replicators in a time capsule while you upgrade everything :HOT:

ya, one game they had like 90% of the space, and I had to equip ships with 3 or 4 hyperwarp 3 modules so that when I declared war I would have surprise on my side.

I love doing this. It makes war with me like a land war in Russia. :)

Yea, I haven't played Yor that much and I'm starting to really see the advantage of that super ability. Could be my new favorite for a few games.
