Annoying grafix glitch still not fixed!?

THE DEVELOPERS NEED TO FIX IT ALREADY!!!

This has persisted ever since the first version of patch 1.8.

It will generally happen if you place over a certain number of parts on a ship in the ship designer. The textures on several parts stretch from and connect to random components on the ship model and when you exit the ship builder and start it again completely random parts are missing. I have some awesome looking ship designs that have around 100 components (that includes extas and functional ones), but when I use any of the 1.8 builds literally half of the actual models are invisible. The ships will also have missing parts in the galaxy view too.

Plz fix this it is verry annoying.

I can provide a few of the ship models and some screenshots if necessary.

Please do. Send them zipped to [email protected] with your debug.err, a description of the problem, and a link back here.

Turn off mixed vertex processing mode and that should fix your problem.

I have the same problem, there seems to be a ceiling or max # of components that I am able to place on my ship before components start to turn invisible or weird stretching lines running across the ship. I tried turning off mixed vertex processing but doesn't seem to have any effect. I first thought it was a memory issue but the game won't even utilize all 2 gigs of my system memory at any given time. At most I reach 75% memory usage and both cores of my cpu are always under 50% load. I have an 8800 ultra along with equally overpriced (overkill) components so I'd hate to think my rig is under performing, it can play cyris just fine, jeez. Is there some setting that limits the amount of memory that the game will use for building ships?
