Cannot find starbase output

My first post - hope it's the correct forum!

Can anybody please tell me where I can see the output of an economic starbase (or a resource starbase for that matter)? I've constructed a starbase so that my initial planets are covered by it's area of influence. I then built a basic factory on it, which should provide me with a 5% manufacturing bonus. However, I cannot find this bonus anywhere on the planetary summaries for economic output. In fact, the planets' outputs are exactly the same as before I build the starbase. At first I thought the base might still be under construction, but it certainly looks completed! Any help would be much appreciated

It is in the upper right corner of the Planet Details window, in the box labeled External Bonuses. At least that's how it was working for me in November of last year.

IIRC, you might not see the bonus until the turn *after* you add the module to the starbase.

In this vein, I've been wondering about the cost effectiveness of economic starbases when you build them near an isolated colony. In my last game I had a colony way off by itself. I built two constructor ships, one to build an economic starbase and one to add the module that increased production by 4%, and walked them clear across the galaxy to have a starbase for that colony. Assuming that even when the spending slider is at a high rate the colony only had production of say 30 shields...then the starbase only added 1 shield. Was it worth it? Am I looking at this all wrong?

Dude, as a semi-regular threadjacker, I have to encourage you to make this your own thread with a subject line that summarizes your basic question. I'd love to see an answer to your question *and* have a thread title that let folks know that they might find such an answer.

My guess is that you're better off building local constructors for distant colonies, but that the hard numbers vary widely based on map settings, ship speed, and possibly other factors. And it looks like TA will make things even more complicated (which I like).
