How much sleep are you losing because of GalCiv?

Pardon if this is a duplicate - my original post through SDC appears to have "vanished" in thin air...

I judge a game by the amount of sleep lost playing it. Last night I had a total of (1) hours of sleep. Totally faked my way through work today! Had to recover in time for tonight's gaming session :)

O.K., so I haven't been that bad yet, but I think I've had one night of more than 5 hours sleep in the last week.

I usually sleep at 9 when able, but these days I've been sleeping at midnight-ish. Still get up early in the morning though so that I can squeeze in an extra turn or two :D

Sleep ?

Between the cable news coverage of the war in Iraq and GalCiv I don't sleep.

I remember it vaguely as being someting nice though.

I want to hear Frogboy's answer to this question... ;)

For me, I'm averaging about 2-3 hours of lost sleep a night because of this game. I'm thinking of suing Stardock for selling an addictive product without a warning label... :p

Yeah..that's why i'm waiting about 5 days between games..maybe 6...I finished my first game a few days
ago and i hardly slept at all. I would love to play
it again right now..but i will wait 5 days or 6 or 4
hehe..to get righted.

Wow, that's a lot of self-discipline Duglis. I find myself wanting to play another game only a few hours after I finish the last one... :D

Brad could not be getting much sleep.
When I read the forum at home 1:30am and see a post by Frogboy any 4 hours later at work there are still more posts.

Frogboy's lack of sleep is because him and his team are busting their butts so that all of us can be having a great time playing GalCiv and enjoying the patches and updates. The Stardockians are to be commended! Their dedication should be a model for the industry.

What a great and horribly addicting game. One time on the OS/2 version I sat down at 9:00 on a Friday night and didn't get up until 11:00 the next morning. Like the rest of you, I'm pathetically bleary-eyed at this point. 4 hours of sleep for me last night. "Just one more turn...." ;p

I got the game on march 31st.
I installed it at around 8PM, applied the patch and started a game.
My girlfriend came and said, "time to go to bed"... geeez, it was 1AM. ;p

I had the game for only 1 day and I'm already starting to feel the effect of the *one more turn*.

3 and 4 am nights (or is that mornings) are common place for me right now with this game....

I usually pull myself together when it's after 2.00 AM. Then my mind has something like "I must sleep or I'll be no good tomorrow". So with 5.30 hours of sleep I'm managing thusfar. :)

I've been getting my normal dose of sleep, but since I work from home let me just say that a fair bit of my daytime productivity is highlighted by planetary invasions. ;p

"My girlfriend came and said, "time to go to bed"... geeez, it was 1AM."

The question is, what did you do when she said that? You know you're TRULY addicted when the girlfriend says that, and you don't want to go... ;)

The game is adictive, you think you are going to put it away and get a few hours sleep but wait lets conquer this planet first etc...
