Does anyone know which races are "good" ethicly

as well as which are neutral?

Im trying to set my games up playing with 2 a.i controlled good races, two evil and 3 neutral.

Im positive the drengin and yor are evil, the arceans thalans and terrans are neutral, however in my games none of the races i chose to be good actually go good.

I think the iconians and the krynn are good, but ive only seen the iconians be the good guys. the krynn are neutral and out for themselves most games, even though they claim to be here to bring order to the galaxy lol.

anyhow, anyone know a second good ethical race other than the torians, who are wimps?

Here's the breakdown from DA's RaceConfig.xml, and it looks like they're leaving it like this for the new TA expansion.

1 = pure evil, 99 = pure good, and note that a few races like the Yor and Drath start halfway between neutral and one of the extremes.

Drengin 1
Korath 1
Korx 1
Yor 25

Terran 50
Thalan 50
Arcean 50
Krynn 50

Drath 75
Torian 80
Iconian 90
Altarian 99

The Altarian may be good, but that doesn't stop them from being backstabbing SOBs too.

At least in my games.

Same here... those prissy Altarians always give me a hard time. They're usually at the top of my list of races to eliminate.

It is more about conflict between the divisions, than it is about ultimate values.

If it were about ultimate values, the Altarians would avoid violence at all cost - and the Drengin would attack no matter the odds.
Such is not the case, though.

This is a game that is purely neutral.
There is no real good or evil or neutral.

Both sides will use the same means to attain the goal of galactic conquest.
So, both sides (and the middle) are equal.

Your only choice is, whether you utilize the strengths of good or bad or neutral to obtain your ultimate goal.
It can be done in any case - if you are smart enough to use your relative strength's to their full potential.

i have found that the a.i's ethical choice has a huge impact on the game.

for instance, the iconians always go good for me, and if they become powerful they protect the better aligned races and declare war on the evil ones. also the temples of ethical choices are cool, but only if there are races in the galaxy who follow those ethical choices.

good races stick together and so do evil ones, i find that makes the game even better and more realistic even though the game is massively fictional. neutral races just sort of do their own thang

Yeah, aligment affects race's behaviour but that doesn't stop them backstabbing or declaring war against you if they've decided to have conquest victory or so.
