Hi!
You can't play a game, but you can attack a planet? How's that possible if you can't play the game?
If you didn't notice TA is BETA. Not everything works in beta. Play Dark Avatar or Dread Lords. Those do work.

If you download a program that hasn't been released yet, isn't finished, and is being made available mostly for testing purposes, you shouldn't be surprised when it has problems.
If you don't like that, wait until the game is actually released before you play it.

I think his misconception is that he had paid money and now he can DL it and play it. The bit of "people who PRE-ORDERED TA get to play the Beta" might have missed his eyes.

It's a beta. Be glad that pre-orders get to play it at all, normally you would have to wait until January. You also consciously checked 'show pre-release versions' in SDC, what did you expect? A perfectly complete, bug-free version? It wouldn't be Beta then.
Furthermore, there is a new Beta coming out WEEKLY. Other companies give out a (public) beta ONCE, and that's it. If they have open Betas at all. Seeing posts like this, I understand why they don't.

Just to drive the point home TA is currently a public Beta there are going to be bugs, lots of them the bug you are talking about by the way is I think caused when you have ships with unused movement points I've ocasionaly seen it and had to reload. I'm sure it will be fixed by the time TA is released.
This is probably a troll thread... I don't think anyone is that dumb.

I hope it does gt fixed, its not isolated to the TA betas, i play DA and it happens.
I had it happen to me once, but cannot replicate it. I'm playing a TA game and just took out the Dregin's fleets and planets w/o any lockups. Back when it happened, I sent my save game and debug.err in.
I figured out a fix
When you attac a planet and the turn button disapears and then your fleet frezes is coz the star democrasy needs to vote on starting wars. This bug is caused coz the voting window does not appear.
Fix:
Change manner of goverment before attac.
Should work until next patch
