Game Lock in Gigantic Map

I am posting this to see if anyone else has come across this particular lock up in the new version. The game 'turn' button disppears away. You can not select a new ship or planet or starbase but can use all the 'management' screens of technology, progress etc. If I do a quicksave and then reload, the turn button appears and I can proceed for three to four more turns before the same thing happens again.

I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this. I don't want to lose this game as I'm having a lot of fun playing as the Krynn with a horribly underpowered military but unbelievable cultural missionaries. (and yes, I've sent in the requisite debugg and zipped saved game to Stardock).

Its a temporary problem as the game tries to figure out what its next move is for the A.I.'s. The reason it shows up more on larger maps is because the A.I. has more options.

Try this - wait for a minute or two, just to make sure it's really stuck instead of still processing somebody's move. Then, if it still won't go, click your "find" button the hit the space bar to burn the moves of whatever ship/fleet is highlighted. Repeat as necessary until the turn button comes back.

Sometimes this bug is simply one of your ships that gets stuck (conflicting movement instructions or whatever). Doing the above burns the remaining move points on that ship, allowing the program to move on to the next one instead of just sitting there confused.

Thanks but I tried the find and it didn't work. I'll just have to wait for the next beta.

Yep, I get the same too after a couple of hours. When I save and reload it comes back, then after a couple of more turns the entire game crashes on me, which has happened on 2 or 3 games now. Ah well, such is playing beta.

If you're getting complete crashes, make sure to get SmartException logs and send them in.
