Aren't the names supposed to reset?

Space Monkeys

I started a game as humans and renamed their empire Space Monkeys and their leader Bobo just because I was in a wierd mood. I have since started a new game as the Krynn and I just ran into Emporer Bobo of the Space Monkeys! Is it supposed to do this?

Scincerely,

To remove the Space Monkeys from the next game you play you need to go into the race setup screen and hit the load button at the bottom. This should show you the Space Monkey race and you can select delete from there. Then move back to the race selection and choose the Terran's. Hit reset and then clear and you should be back to the original.
The game holds the overwrite options as you can change each race. You may also have found that in the next game you may have come up against the Space Monkeys and the Terran's as if you have random race selection highlighted the game will pick from your custom race designs too.

This reminds me of a related question I've had for a while:

Let's say I play the Terrans in one game and choose various abilities for them. After that, I start a new game and choose a different race. Will the AI Terrans use the abilities I chose in the previous game or is there a default set of abilities for each race that the AI will use? If I've never played a race and there are ability points unspent, the AI will, I hope, spend them, right?

Yes they will.

No there is not.

And lastly, no they will not.

If you want the AI races to use ability points you need to go in and set up each of those races and their abilities prior to playing a game. And of course, those settings will carry over to the next game unless you load the default value for those races.

So, could the game would in fact be "easier" potentially by having the basic AI opponents without spent ability points? Or alternately, some with points spent, some without.

I kinda hope this gets looked at in TA.

By the way, I always assumed the AI would allocate ability points at the start of the game based on their difficulty rating. I'm a little disappointed now.

Strato84, it really doesn't matter too much because if you play at a higher difficultly level then tough, the AI will start to get extra bonuses anyway. So all you need to do is just play at the difficulty level that is right for you.

If it really bugs you, just replace the races with custom races that you create in which you have spent all the ability points.

I would really like to see a feature that "returns to default". I find it annoying to reload the races all the time.

Maybe I am missing something that you can help me with: After deleting all the custom races, I end up returning them to a state where they are "cleared" and have none of the 10 ability points used. Is there any way to get the AI to use those points (instead of me choosing for them)? I think they are back to default, but they all have unused points, and I just don't know if they are using the points or not.

That's what we just said, NO there is not. You have to tell them what to use or they AI WILL NOT use them.

ok. I get it. I just thought there might have been a difference from having a saved race with 5 of 10 points used, and a default race with 0 of 10 points used. Thats why I asked.
