Micromanagement question

Wondering if it is possible to set a waypoint for newly built ships (say a contstructer) to AUTOMATICALLY LAUNCH and go to a specific mining base?

I would be interested in this as well, usually I have 2-3 colonies dedicated to constructors for a while just to create a surplus, and having to assign each one to a location gets old quickly (especially if theyre producing quickly).

In general I just straight dont understand the rally point system, never seems to be anything i can do with them (for ships at least).

When you select a planet, there's a rally icon (a target with an arrow pointing down at it) in the corner of the info panel. Click that button to assign the planet (and thus any ships it subsequently builds) a previously created rally point (the button to create rally points is on the left side of the bottom panel). There are also governors for managing rally points and ship construction in the civ manager screen.

There's also a tutorial video about rally points in the game, so watch that first thing if you haven't, to get the basics down.

Fantastic, thank you Kryo. I have seen these different buttons but never realized you had to use both to get a proper rally function. I'll certainly be watching the video since i had completely forgotten there were tutorial videos. Thanks again!

Oh, durr.

I kept trying to set the rally point using the one by spy icon. Didn't even know that a specific one for the planet existed. Thanks!

Rally point question ---

Is it possible to give names to them? Or to locate them on the map quickly?

I have used rally points but find that it gets confusing when I create a number of them.

Yes you can name them when created, or afterwards, click one and click on details in the lower left, and it will pop up wit the original creation window where you can change the type and name of a rally point.
