As near as I can tell these (Ion Beam techs) do nothing for the Korath.

BTW, naming a tech Particle Beams when there is one named that already is probably a bad idea.

I have not gotten far to them in the game yet myself, but noticed this as a potential problem from the tech tree. The IB I tech then branches off to Disruptors. None of the IB techs seem to have associated weapons. Why would anyone research IB II and IB III?

They do nothing for the Drengin as well.
