Updated views on TA

Look around the Beta Report area, it's full or complaints, like it should be. But I just wanted to say again what I think of TA so far, with the new beta.

I could repeat what has been said in the marketing posts, but you can read that their, and it's all true. But the real thing I wanted to talk about is how deep the game now is. Ta is meant to change the races from different pictures with different abilities. To races with their own trees, improvements...

With the new race, the Krynn, they seem to have it spot on. It's hard to explain what I want to say, but the race seems so complete that they feel like a real race. You don't need to role play, you can't help role playing, the race is so perfect. The recent poll shows Terran Alliance as the most popular, But after playing TA, I know I didn't even consider voting for them. I know the story of the humans, it's the others I'm interested in now. So if you are considering TA, but have been putting it off. Get it. The game has now got the immersive balance just right. So I again thank the devs for an amazing game.

Absolutely it’s a Beta so any off us playing it expect to find a lot of bugs and have a duty to report them.

That doesn’t mean we don’t realise what a great, deep and difficult to balance addition to the game the unique racial technologies, components and buildings are. Not to mention all the other improvements coming including editors and Invasion screen improvements.

Stardock never cease to amaze me with the quality of their work, the on going improvements they make to their games (often free of charge, as well as paid expansions), and their commitment to customer service. All of which are second to none despite them being a small independent developer.

Actually, their customer service is probably second to none because they're a small, independent developer. Larger companies don't have to keep their customers as happy to succeed, and there's too many customers to do so anyway - compare this to a smaller company with fewer customers that relies more on repeat business. Obviously they're going to do what they can to keep us coming back.

Just wanted to agree and say that I think Stardock is an amazing company as well. TA is beyond what anyone could have hoped out of an expansion, it's practically like playing a new game. In fact, the only non-bug thing I have to possibly complain about in TA is that the Drengin play a little too much like a watered down version of the Korath. Seeing as before TA they played even more similarly, its only a complaint in comparison to how amazingly different the races all feel and play now!

Keep up the great work guys.

Remember though that Stardock makes its money building application software. They do not need Gal Civ II to be profitable, they do not need to treat us as human beings, they do it merely because it is Brad's first (or maybe second) step to world domination... ;)

I agree, the Krynn have the perfect influence and balance over my play style, I even name my ships in roleplaying. Its truly a blast playing as them!

World Domination? I think you underestimate him. GalCiv2 is designed to train us on how to conquer whole worlds in his quest to dominate the entire galaxy. :D
