Planet list - Unowned - Habitable

Is there a bug with the sort for the Planet List - Unowned - Habitable view?

I use this screen to determine the best candidate planet to send my next colonizer to,
but the planets do not appear to be displayed with the most habitable choice on top.

Instead I get a bunch of uninhabitable planets on top. If I go to the bottom, it is the same down there as well. Any help would be appreciated, as I really enjoy the game, and I would like to use this funtionality quite a bit as I did with the MOO2 uncolonized planet sort screen. Thanks in advnce.

Above the listing of planets, there is a line that tells you how the planets are sorted - by name (alphabetically), by sector, etc. Click the arrow on the side of the box (right or left, both will work) until it says "class". The planets will then appear with the highest class unowned planets at the top of the list. Very useful for tracking down class one planets after the colony rush is over.

This works in DA, and I can't see why they would change it for TA. Don't know about DL, it's been a while.

He knows that, I think. What I believe he's saying is that in addition to "class," there's a "habitable" heading you can click to, only this one functions contrary to expectation.

What I would expect if I click on unowned and then select habitable is for all the planets I can currently colonize (preferably further sorted by size) to move to the top of the list.

What you get instead, as best I can make out, is a grouping of planets by type -- i.e., first all the unowned radioactive planets, then all the toxic planets, etc. It's not clear to me how they are arranged within the type, it looks entirely random. I think they never got around to fully implementing this selection.

To the OP, what I do is use the class heading and then click through the planets until I find one I can colonize. It's a bit tedious.

You can also just zoom out the main map a lot and learn to read the planet representations. If you have sharp eyes you can find uncolonized planets pretty quickly that way.

The list that comes up on the screen when you press F1 or F2. F1 brings up a ship list, F2 brings up a planet list which you can sort various ways.

[Edit: this is in DA, I don't know what's available in DL or TA.]

Yes, Terenin is correct, I am using the "Habitable" view to (wishfully) sort
the "Unowned" planets by Habitability. In MOO2, you could do a similar query and the planets at the top of the list were the most desireable to colonize, making it MUCH easier to determine where to send that next colonizer.

Thanks for the response gang, I hope someone from Stardock reads this.

I have already ordered the next expansion, maybe this will be implemnted in there.

gsol69 yes i believe it is broken. Please send a report on this to the bugs email and hopefully the devs can get it rectified. The idea was born so we could easily see the most habitable planet available to us but for some reason does not work at present.

If you search by class wont all the uninhabitable planets (class 0) be at the bottom.

Not in DA, at any rate. You can have a class 26 world, just as an example, which would appear at or near the top of the list that you can't colonize because it's toxic and you haven't researched toxic colonization yet.

Ah, that's why the question seemed a little off to me. I didn't know you could search by extreme type in TA. I preordered, but simply don't have the time to beta. By the time I would finish a game, I'd be a version or two behind. OP never actually said this was about TA, so I just assumed it was a wording thing   ;p  I'm too used to seeing things like that on the GameFAQs boards.

Drengin, can you please clarify how to go sending toward the "bugs email" address? I am not clear on how to go about reporting this issue. I see the "Support & bugs" forum link, should I just repeat my poet in that forum, or is there an email address I should be sending too for direct contect? Thanks ina advance.
