Beta 3 Terror Stars

Are the terror stars bugged? I finally completed one with all of the components but now it still wont move or attack anything. Is this a bug with the terror stars or are they really not completed yet? Has anyone else experienced this or found a way to make it work?

Picket line busting is yet another reason to escort your Terror Star with at least one attack ship.

It wouldn't be so bad, if Terror Stars could be fleeted. As it is now, to properly escort one, you have to manually move the fleet at the same pace as the Terror Star.

In my first good use of a terror star, I used two fleets flanking it. They would run around the outer edges of the system as the TS headed for the center. This way they could spot and intercept any incoming. One thing the AI should of done that they didn't is launch their defenders off the planets in an attempt to stave off the systems destruction. I know the AI almost never launches defenders for attack purposes, but this is one case where self preservation should take over when they see a TS coming, and with it being defensless they could have destroyed it within the system before I could respond.

In my current game, whenever I go to destroy Kora with my Terror Star my game crashes...Absolutely awesome animation though, but as soon as it finishes my game crashes.

EDIT: Happens on any star system...

CC are there plans to allow you to fleet the TS so the other ships form an easy defence around it? It would be a nice implementation as right now they are really fragile and need protection, not easily done with the battle concept as it is!

This might be true, and possibly its cause my current laptop has such a shitty graphics card (thank god for my new laptop i get tomorrow qith a 512Mb graphics card) but i cant get the terror stars to do jack squat for me in an inhabited or non system at all.

Perhaps the Terror Stars could have some sort of Drone technology?

Everyone likes to use the example of Aircraft Carriers and while they do have some weaponry on board, they do have a whole bunch of planes! Along with the Terror Start line of techs, put in a tech where the Tstar would be equipped with drones so that in the event of a battle against a lone fighter it won't be completely dead in the water.

The drones however would not be enough against a Frigate or Cruiser, just enough to get through a few fighters.

The above idea makes me think of Return of the Jedi when the Rebels attempt to go destroy the new Death Star. While the Empire has a butt-load of Tie Fighters defending it (for those pesky X-wings), it also has a huge amount of Star Destroyers with it as well. Without them, the Rebels could take their frigates and destroy the Death Star much easier.

It would need some balancing to get it right, but I think adding a few drones would fix a lot of issues about worrying about the one fighter. The drones can also be destroyed and you would essentially need to purchase new ones or run out.
