Arceans- No Engines in TA Beta 2B

I was playing a game not too long ago using the Arceans, in TA 2B Beta.
Long story short, I did not see any engines to research. Everything from Ion Drive on was missing.
As far as I know, all other techs showed up fine, but after I researched hyperdrive engines, I could not research anything more, and they did not show up, even as future techs.
I could trade/ buy better engines off the AI, and I did this, but on my own tech tree, they were simply not there.

The Arceans have only basic engines, instead relying on speed ability bonuses and improvements that increase the speeds of ships built at the planets they're on.
