Stardock will be closed for Easter weekend starting on Friday, April 3rd and we will be returning on Tuesday, April 7th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time, but expect delays in responses during this time.

Will this laptop play GalCiv2 with XP installed?

I am going to be getting my father one of these awesome little laptops for Christmas, and I am curious if anyone has attempted to get GalCiv2 running on one of them. My father has been playing MOO2 since it came out, and I think it is time he tried a new game, but he has never had a computer with windows on it powerful enough to run it. Currently he has a 450mhz windows box that he uses for MOO2, and a 900mhz linux box which he refuses to even attempt WINE on.

Basically, I really really want to introduce him to this game, but am very unsure if his new toy will be able to run it.

LCD Resolution: 800x480 (~WVGA)

GalCiv2 requires at least 1024x768 resolution, so this little thing would not be able to run it - or many other games either.

If you decide against that unit, I recently bought an inexpensive Acer Aspire 5670 laptop from Newegg.com that runs the game nicely. It has a Radeon X1600 GPU and a Core Duo processor. I thought it was a great deal. My only complaint is the display isn't the highest quality. I have trouble seeing it outdoors, but it's fine indoors.
