Pre 1.8

Is there a way to make it so the number of worlds/stars in a map is pre-version 1.8?
It's just horrible to have large+ maps on abundant all look like a desert.

I don't use the abundant settings myself, but I am pretty sure that in one of the post-1.8 minor updates, around 1.8d, the system generation top limit got set back up to 1.71 levels.

However, the 1.8e version that is on SDC right now has a pretty serious movement bug. There is an unfinalized 1.8f version available from Carielf as a zip at the top of the Bug Reports forum.

Damn so it's not fixable? It is a sad day.
never mind, it's not worth playing with such a sparse set up, I won't need the 1.8f update anyways most likely.

What do you mean, 'not fixable'?
Use SDC to update to 1.8e, then manually update to 1.8f. Fixed.

AFAIK all the changes to distribution in 1.8 were already reversed in 1.8a/b after the all the outrage. The current build (f) shouldn't be too dissimilar to 1.6 levels.

I have it and all is well.

Hey, kryo,

I know everyone is kinda tied up with TA right now, but there is a fair amount of friction evident among the non-beta-players about the 1.8e issues, and older stuff like this thread.

It seems like it would be real good to get 1.8f moved out to be the current standard on SDC. There are a lot of old hands that have played it for awhile now with little complaint; can it be blessed and posted?

I second this. I don't have winzip or whatever.
