upgrading ships in Beta 2b

I was very pleased to see the ship upgrade bug was fixed in the change log for 2b so I decided to play a game and try out some of the Yor weapon techs. I had researched several weapon and defence systems an wanted to toughen up my Defender class ships so I went to the shipyard, clicked Defender-> Upgrade-> Weapons and saw my extensive list of upgraded weapons. The warmonger in me giggled like a school girl and clicked the beam weapons subtab... Nothing! Missiles tab... Nothing! Massdriver tab... Everything! The same happened in defenses and modules tabs, all upgrades are filed together under one tab and no longer sort properly.

Thanks for catching this one.  I've fixed it and the fix will be included in the next beta.

This also happens with hulls. I was just starting to write a bug that tiny hulls were not available until I scrolled down on the hull list and saw them listed after all the cargo hulls.

It was very disconcerting to think of fighting wars with cargo hulls mounted with weaponry.

mindlar,

The above fix will fix the filter buttons in every category (hulls, weapons, defenses, etc)

That's what I thought. Just wanted to make sure that you saw it there also.

Yep I tried it for all the tabs to make sure it's ok.  It's good you pointed it out though.  It made me double-check to make sure.

Actually I have a couple of super-armed (8-9 black hole eruptors) cargo-hull designs that I use to finish off games where I am the tech king with ultimate defenses but don't have many ships, or when I have shifted over to all-attack mode (you can put about 13 bhe's on them then.)

Think about it. At that point in the game the hit points of a single ship don't mean much, so putting in the cheapest death-dealing gunboat you can to finish off half the enemy fleet in the first round makes perfect sense.

I've also often gone through the first half of many games where my cargo-hulled explorers were my only armed ships for years.

The ship tiling bu is still present , despite saying it was fixed ( I filed this report in 2a as well).

basically ... fleet of 3 ships... 1 is destroyed, the thumbnail still shows 3 ships, while there is only 2 (and the number says 2). Unfleeting and refleeting works fine, its just that it is not updating.
