Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Cool, thanks for the heads-up Dystopic.  :)  I'll check it out.

My RPG group is now playing Mutants and Masterminds, a superhero genre game.  I much prefer a high-fantasy setting, and have never been a "super-fan", but in the game I'm having lots of fun being sarcastic and mocking the genre, using the prefix "super" to describe everything.  The other players find it amusing, so we're all having fun.

well isn't that... na, i can't... can i?... sure, why not?.... isn't that super.

O:)

classic, run-of-the-mill, Tolkein-esque fantasy can get a little boring if that's all you do. but i'm in a similar boat, except i haven't don't any paper/dice gaming in 5 years or so, so i'm itching for just about anything.

i think if neilo gets involved we should force him to play a bard named Neilodius }:)

This is what they look like until they turn 12, which is when gender differences begin to show. Also here is a Geckodain (female Geckodon) ,

If I might change the subject momentarily: Economics.

The topic seems to have degenerated from its original purpose into a questioning of game mechanics, as it relates to an economy's effect on research and production.

It'd be appreciated if some of you guys would care to stop by and put in your two cents worth, as it seems we have a veritable smorgasbord of knowledgeable and/or veteran players in this thread (whether or not they are in the Empire).

Just to clarify, I'm not asking you to agree with me, just asking you to agree with the game mechanics.  You know, just in case a certain someone decides to make a big deal out of this post.  :)

Most of you know that I do try to help people, particularly when it involves understanding how the game works, but I'm at a loss here for how to proceed.  Logic and reproduceable examples don't appear to have any effect.

On the Metaverse 'Empire Statistics' screen do only senators get in the top part or is it score based?

It's just Senators LedZerggelin.  Senator status doesnt actually have any functionality to it, so it is doesnt actually do much.  It's just a way to reward your players.

Surrender your birdseed and prepare your attics for occupation by a Snathi provisional government, for the Mighty Squirrells have finally busted the 80K barrier......

That's longer than a lot of people stick around Seth.  Nobody can accuse you of having ADD. ;)  This thread will also have a 1-year anniversary in a couple weeks, one day after my b-day.

Very nice. Very nice, indeed. Incidentally, I have now decided that I really like playing as the Yor in DA. The miniaturization bonus and automatic ion drive give my initial ships that extra "kick" that lets me start sporing around March 15 or 22 now. In one recent game, game, I captured the the Torian homeworld early, and got to play three full turns with TWO Tech Capitols and a total of three x7 research tiles.

SNOW!!!!!

Sorry...I'm a little excited to know winter is finally here.

its still FALL!

sorry, I have a love/hate relationship with Winter since I grew up right on the lakeshore in Michigan so, that means LOTS of Lake Effect snowfall.  It was depressing, it could be sunny just about everywhere else in the country and meanwhile it be dumping 6" of snow on my doorstep.

I like it better here at Purdue- unless the winds are directly out of the North we don't see any lake effect, so its not too bad overall.

I can think a few people that are currently in disagreement lol.

I'm in northeast PA getting that storm that has delayed the World Series...  Perhaps I should watch my joyousness around here incase there are baseball fans about.  I told my Uncle...it would be a cold day in hell when the Phillies win the series, I just didn't think it would be literally.

Hehehe. I'm originally from Philly and live in San Antonio now. All my relatives are going nuts right now. I wouldn't mess with anyone from Philly right now. The city hasn't won a championship in any (major) sport since 1983.....25 years! Everybody is painting things red and calling it 'Red October'

I personally couldn't care less about baseball and would KILL for a 'Green October'. E-A-G-L-E-S......EAGLES!!!!
