so i take it you (or the Mrs.) have a thing for day lillies? i like morning glories myself. well, climbers in general. i tried planting a couple dozen more seeds the other week to see if i could get a few more blooms before "winter" (bear in mind this is San Diego i'm talking about here). nothing too unusual, some Flying Saucers, Cameo Elegances, Chocolates, and a few mono-chrome cultivars. a few of the ungerminated seeds started growing about a month ago and are all mixed up with the massive geranium (Martha Washington) bush, though no blooms yet. only the one by the aloe has bloomed.

if i'm still living here next Spring, i'm thinking about throwing in some moonflower and passionflower vines. i'm also hoping to find some more interesting MG cultivars as well. in Japan, the botanical culture around MGs is second only to that of bonsai. i'd really love to grab a few of the more interesting cultivars, though a lot of them result in sterile flowers so the most interesting ones can only be had live.

Aye, she is.  She actually works at a plant nursey and will bring one home every so often that she orders in thru their venders.  I've been paid in plants or chemicals if I help her out on Saturdays, that's where the magnolia tree came in.

For our anny this year I bought her the Krakatoa and Nights Coming since it was a "Fruit or Flowers" gift year.

Aye, the most known day lilly would be a stella doro.  Boring yellow things they are.  She has purples and reds and blacks going on w/ the creamsicle orange from krakatoa.

We tend to keep away from annuals because A) I'm too damn cheap to buy things each year if it's going to die and all they sell at her work are perrenials.

The only climber we had in the yard, I had cleared out before we got the new fence put in...I got cracked when she found out I ripped out all the honeysuckle.  It was all tangled in the old fence...it'll grow back.

i do wish i had a big yard. my tiny little joke of a yard doesn't give me much space to mess around with. i'd try to do all my landscaping with hallucinogenic plants. for S's & G's.

I wouldn't say our's is big, only 1/4 of an acre, but it's enough for our lab to run around and to have picnics.

my front yard is about 6' x 18'.

i think thats smaller than my bedroom....yes, after doing the math, its only like half the size of my bedroom.

If you wish, you could PM Drengin and ask him about it.  He ran the Core back when I was a member and he knows the admins there.  He might even have first hand knowledge of what's going on.

Drengin transitioned the Core to Tech the last year and we have not seen him much at all since then.  His wife appears now and then, but she is busy with 4 kids at this point.  Tech is the owner of the domain at this point.

Who knew Drengin(s) bred so quickly.  

The Core has been down for less than a day, so I'm hoping it will be fixed relatively soon.  I PMd Technician at the main SD forums to see what is up and hopefully we will hear back from him.

Damn, I found a new waste of time (like I needed more).  Britney 'Tabloid' Spears has a new video out.  I've been watching it on Youtube w/o my headphones on.  Cycling between that and Lacuna Coil's "Heaven's a Lie" video has killed plenty of time this week already.

I did make the mistake of showing that video to my wife.  She then went to iTunes and bought that song... There was a REASON I watched the video w/o my headphones...I don't want to hear her croning.

I'll remember to bring in the Lacuna Coil album tomorow to work though, so I can stop watching the video and just listen to the song....not that I don't mind looking at her either.../sigh

Hear that?  The devil that is Youtube for distributing stuff for free just made the artists some money.  That's the second LC album I bought since Rock Band 2 came out with Our Truth in it.  That's now 3 albums and 2 singles that Rock Band has cost me!!!

okay. i'll chime in. i love the ship editor, so i don't mind.

1) for a capital ship, it's an incredibly simplistic design. it looks like you don't have any more than 6 pieces of jewelry on there. the stock designs from stardock are simple, but that's to keep them from crashing low-end systems (like Loup's).

2) it's hard to even tell it's supposed to be a ship. it just looks like a huge hunk of metal. i'd recommend including some jewelry with windows.

3) it lacks personality. if you look to all the great SF art (specifically ship designs), there's always a unifiying visual theme  in ship designs, usually that goes beyond simply color. ST federation ships have their large saucers, while klingon ships have their long "necks" and "wings".

4) i'd be happy to design a few ToE ships for your mod, but i don't want to impose. i don't know how much you want to keep this project "your own."

Sadly I tied you one day and the scoreboard on the Core showed me as #1, but the trivia game showed you as #1 and gave you 11 and me 10 points!  Probably my only chance, too.  I just read to slow, can't get the low times in.
