Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

kzin6

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

but don't be shy of aiming high. aim low, you'll probably hit your mark. aim high, and the worst that might happen is you hit the mark you would've had you aimed low. i'll agree about the forum running, but i think in a few years you might not want to do that anyway.

from what i've seen, i think you might enjoy doing art for video games. you seem very creative when you're interested in something, and with a bit of training in the arts i'm sure you'd be a top-notch video game artist. and that's not to say that you couldn't handle coding, design, or whatever else--that's what a double major is for ;)

One thing I'm currently trying to do is find that special someone and apperently I found her although we aren't going out. I will ask her if she'll dance with me at my school's next dance on Friday, I feel so nervous  just thinking about it :smitten: . Yeah I really like to be creative and express my ideas but not by changing my name and empire almost every few months like Seeker.

I was always like that with women too Seth.  The more I liked her, the more nervous I would get, and the less able to say anything coherent.  A very common problem for us geeks. ;)

When I was in 6th grade (which was also the year I got into Galciv 2) I could always be brave to tell a girl that I liked her. Now I get too damn nervous. 6th grade was the worst year of my life and it kinda screwed me up, ugh I remember this snotty rich kid who made fun of me for not having a Wii and for liking PC games. 7th grade was 75% as bad and now things are looking a whole lot better.

GAH!!!!  I'm glad I already have a game that will work for the MVL this round.  Combined with my little time for play, I came across World of Goo.  There is a demo of it here http://2dboy.com/games.php?ref=demo1 and the full game is also available on Impulse.

I read at least the first 2 or 3, but didnt continue beyond that. I think at the time I couldnt get any of the later books at the local library (before the internet, Amazon, etc). I see that there are now at least a dozen books.

I just started #11 on the Wheel of time, yesterday.  I thought #11 was the last one published, because the author died.  I'm hoping someone will pick it up and finish the series.

#10 kind of dragged on a little, none of the Major plotlines had much closure from #9.  It didn't seem there was even a climax to the book, just continuing storylines.

I heard it was his wife/editor that is picking up the last bit...I didn't look too far into checking that fact though.

I'm green with envy.  Knocking on 12hr days, 7 day weeks now for the big rampup for Monday/Tuesday's meeting.  I can't WAIT for turkey day to get here so I'm not as rushed anymore.  On the bright side, I get paid for OT...

All depends on how he came about the unemployment.  My wife is about to be unemployed after turkey day and will probably stay that way until March.  Every year she gets a seasonal layoff at the garden center she works at.

I never noticed/asked what KP does, so for all I know, he could have a seasonal layoff right now as well...that or he won the lotto.  If that's the case, send $120,000 in small bills to.....

No pride involved, just the facts, and a bit of self-deprecating humor. ;)

I was a "payroll specialist" at an employment agency, and got laid-off because the company was not doing well, and my position was to be cut down to part-time.  I elected to leave, instead of commuting 50 miles a day for half-time work.  With high gas prices (although not quite so high now) and no benefits I'd rather stay home and look for a full-time job, and play games. :)

I was giddy today.  The cash-only gas station near work was at $1.98 a gallon for 87 octane.  Not that my 35 mile round trip commute in an Escort ZX2 (avg 30mpg) guzzles much gas...

The local grocery store though gets you $0.10 off a gallon at their pumps for every $100 you spend on groceries as well as having deals for additional $0.20 a gallon for bundles of things or iTunes cards.  We really score well when we fill up my wife's Maxima.  Their gas though is normally about $0.10 more expensive than the cash-only since the cash-only passes on some of the savings of not having credit charges upping their price.

We partial-laided off (20hr weeks) a good section of our shop last month.  They'll go back to full time once January hits and they'll be up to their armpits in work, doing 60hr weeks.  Work's on their horizon...I just need to push it out and get things in here for them to build with.

Ahhh nearly time to go home, crack open a Killians and start up World of Goo.

I wouldn't go that far, but it's beginning to look up.

I wouldn't call low prices an economic recovery.  There are low prices due to lower demand than supply.  There is lower demand because people can't pay for things.  Low prices and it's cause are causing many MANY comapnies to close their doors or shut down underpreforming branches.  Causing more people to be unemployed, causing less demand, causing less sales, causing more closures/layoffs....it's a vicious spiral.

Exactly, but if you look at the bigger picture, there's starting to be reason to hope.
