Kzinti Empire claws its way to 5 million points!

At the heart of the Kzinti Empire, the Patriarch sits in his spartan war-room, surrounded by his closest advisors. The only non-essential furnishings are various battle trophies collected from around the galaxy, some of them gruesome by the standards of most civilizations. A detailed hologram depicting the galaxy floats above the surface of the table. Hraak-Riit, the supreme commander of imperial forces gently manipulates the controls of the projector with the tips of his retractable claws as he speaks.

"Honorable Patriarch, as you can see we have made major successful offensives on multiple fronts." The focus of the hologram zooms in to highlight several different areas where recent fighting has occurred, and where the emblem of the Kzinti Empire now marks the map. "More heroes that bear the heart of a Kzin have joined us from the dying empires of this galaxy, and they have proven to be quite useful indeed. Some of them are even worthy of the title of Hero." At this, several of the other advisors flatten their fan-like ears in disapproval, but none contradict the general with words, for he is the highest-favored of the Patriarch. "With the strength of the Kzinti augmented by these few worthy aliens, the Empire has reached a new benchmark. Galactic statistics indicate that our power, relative to the other empires of this galaxy, has reached to over 5,000,000!"

The regal features of the Patriarch show some hint of pleasure at this statement, but then a slight smile spreads over his face. When a Kzin smiles it is not to express happiness, but a baring of fangs meant as a threat. "That is excellent news Hraak-Riit, but what of these ‘Space Orcas’, as they are called? Why have we not feasted upon the flesh of these fish yet? They are an old and wasted empire, and should be easy pickings."

The General adopts a more submissive posture as he speaks again, "My Patriarch, they are old, but also extremely numerous. Their empire spans many thousands of light-years. We will overcome them, though it may take some time. We will direct more of our forces to that front, so that they will fall sooner."

The Patriarch’s grin grows wider, revealing more razor-sharp teeth. Some of the advisors visibly cringe at this explicit threat. "Make it happen Hraak-Riit, and your glory will become second to only myself. Fail and the consequences will be unpleasant..." The patriarch’s fully extended claws scratch the duralloy table, leaving noticeable gouges in the metal, and everyone’s ears to flatten against their heads at the grating noise. "Go now, and prepare the battle plans for the assault on these fish. I expect we will all be feasting upon seafood soon…"

Congratulations and thanks to all those who have made the Kzinti Empire so successful! We have reached 5 million points and are steadily climbing higher.

Also, a salute to our newest Heroes (Senators), bread_and_butter, Major James Caesar, and Gond!

Yep I know that (cetaceans), but the Kzinti dont yet. I have this running narrative in my mind of what the Kzinti might be experiencing and thinking in the GalCiv universe, and how they might have arrived there from their origin of the "Known Space" universe. I've been pondering writing a full-length original Kzinti story recently, and I'm re-reading some of the "Man-Kzin Wars" books at the moment.

Recently I joined the Kzinti Empire with my new character which I will attempt to play regularily with. Does Kzinti have a thread or forum of it's own?

We dont have our own forum Webnavigator...we have a good number of people who play regularly, but few who show up much on the forums often. I would like to get more people who are active on the forums though, and lately more people have joined who have a presence here. Maybe now it is time to set up something. I will look into it over at the Galactic Core and see what it would entail, or like some empires simply have a running thread here. I've started a number of posts with the Kzinti as the subject, but there is no official Empire thread at the moment.

And thank you for joining the Kzinti. Good hunting to Admiral Wallace...may he become a great Hero!

Hi,

I'm a relatively new member of the Kzinti, but I must say I really enjoy your narratives. It gives the game a bit more of an ambiance and justifies my outright backstabbing of friendly races. I'll try to submit more games, but I'm a bit busy with other things right now.

Hi Arcanic,

Thanks for the compliment. I've been watching your score climb pretty quickly...faster than when I started playing the game. (at first I didnt realize registering defeats lowered your score, because I just wanted a record of what I did) One more game should put you over 100k, and earn you the title of Hero (Senator). Thanks for helping make the Kzinti a success!

If you want to read stories of the Kzinti written by real writers check out the Man-Kzin wars series of books, or other books based in the Known Space universe, created by Larry Niven. Ringworld is probably the most well known of the books.

Another new joiner to the Kzinti empire, but then again you already knew that KzintiPatriarch
I hope your storyline will urge people to frequent the forum often, it's nice to have some conversations or discussions going on between empire members rather than only posting Metaverse games. Though that's of course also important if we want to grab ourselves some orca steak any time soon

Hey Noctilucus...check out our official empire thread which is very creatively named - "Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread." I thought of that all on my own! Definitely its been great to have more Kzinti showing up on the forums, and I have had a few compliments on my brief stories too. The empire has been more successful than I ever expected, and I know that we will overtake the Orcas eventually. The Kzinti are still ravenous for conquest!

PS: You guys should slow down a little, don't you think so...  ?

Thanks Loups....I dont think we'll be slowing down though. Kzinti are always hungry! Maybe you should consider joining us before you all get eaten. Come to the dark-side Loups!
