What to buy

from GalCiv2 Forums
I have the original Galactic Civilizations 2, but none of the expansions. I don't have Dread Lords or anything. So am I able to buy the Dark Avatar expansion or do I have to buy the whole Gold Edition? I've been searching the forums but I can't find anything. Thanks.

Dread Lords is the subtitle of the plain GC2. If you have your serial from it registered (or handy to do so now), then you can go ahead and get just Dark Avatar, as well as preorder Twilight of the Arnor and get in on its beta if you like.

If you didn't or can't register your serial and no longer have it, then you'll want to get the Gold edition instead, since you can't download DA without having DL registered.

Dread Lords *is* GalCiv2. There only is one expansion pack so far, which is "Dark Avatar". So if you have GalCiv2, you can buy it.

Ah you're right, Dread Lords is just the subtitle. I do have it registered, which is great so now I can just download Dark Avatar. Thanks guys.

All info is right above. The game rocks. One of the best games i have played in years that keep me coming back.

For me i only play metaverse. Me and a friends gotten a Empirer to rank 58. The game has alot to offer. If you dont like metaverse then single player is just as good.
