I posted a few times about the problem I'm having posting to the metaverse. The basic gist of the problem is that I had a great game that somehow will not post due to some serial number mismatch which appears to have started after I registered my TA beta in SDC. The response that came back from support indicated they hadn't even looked at the forum post I linked to in my question, and basically told me as much as I'd already figured out. I need to re-register my original serial in SDC and then on the metaverse.
Well, that's all fine and dandy, but can somebody please explain how you change your serial in the metaverse? I have seen no way to do this. When I create a new character, it has a field for the serial number, but when I edit an existing character, I see no such field. How can I reset my serial to get games posting again if the field doesn't exist?
I personally think that SD is an amazing company, but it's ridiculous that a serial number mismatch is this big a problem. I have no way of posting my old game because I don't know, and cannot find out what serial is stored in the saved game. I have no way of posting a new game because I don't know, and cannot find out what serial is stored on my metaverse character. Simply giving me access to this information would alleviate my problem and keep me from bothering support again!
I cannot believe that I may have to start from scratch with a new metaverse character. There has to be some way to get at this information. And if new serials are this big a problem, does this mean we won't be able to post TA games to our existing characters? I just don't see how the metaverse players will consider that an okay thing!
