V2.0 for all GC2 lines is still down the road after TA's release. If there is an end to updates, it won't be before then. As has been noted before, we do plan to do a standalone patch for that release.
I remember you mentioning V2.0 but didn't really understand what that meant. So does this mean that DL, DA and TA will all be released at some finalized V2.0 version all at the same time?
In any case although I think there may have been some minor change to DL initially for DA compatability and then perhaps again for TA compatibility, overall I think it's a true statement that DL has been functionally pretty stable since v1.4x.
I'm guessing but I think to assume the same for DA is not too unreasonable. That is that there may be some change in DA for TA compatibility but that basically once TA is out then there will be little change to DA.
As long as my assumptions aren't known to be incorrect and that by buying TA and getting the CD will "most likely" get me to a SDC free, mostly stable DA and DL then it's well worth it to me to buy TA now for that purpose. If it's known at this point that installing the DA CD then the TA CD won't work without the intervening SDC updates then I probably shouldn't do it, however if there's a chance the path that I outlined will work then I'd just as soon spend the money. Regardless of what else happens I will be buying every version sooner or later anyway.
So what's your best guess of what I can get out of installing the DA CD and then the TA CD?
