Any word on when we will get 1.8 crash on reload fix?

I was just wondering when we would get the fix for the crash to desktop problem that some people besides myself have been having. I already sent a bug report in, and from what I know of it, there is a fix, and the expansion has gotten it but retail still hasn't. If its not going to come out Monday or Tuesday, is there some way you guys might be able to make a previous, 1.7 update available for download? I understand these things take time, but at the same time, this is the second weekend in a row I had wanted to play the game and am unable to, since this really is a gamebreaking bug. It's especially frustrating because nothing I've tried will fix it, even a full reinstall.
