20,000bc cap TABeta 1a

Hello all, has the 20,000bc cap been lifted for TA? When I hit 20,000bc my income did not dramatically drop, it might have gone from 1300bc/wk to 1100bc/wk which in the past that would have droped to near 0bc/wk if not a negative cash flow.

Not that I have played galciv in a very long while so I dont really have a clue atm but, whats wrong with you people? If someone wants to go above 20000bc's why dont you want them to get that kind of enjoyment out of the game? 20000bc's seems to be a very low limit for huge maps etc.

Yeah, this is a very reasonable question and why flame to noones benefit? *sigh

I don't think it's a flame really. There's a feature in DA where if your treasury hits 20,000 BC, you get a pretty hefty penalty to your income.

There's every possibility that the absence of this feature is just an oversight on the development teams part and I gather Swicord REALLY doesn't want to clue the devs in to it. Neither do I come to think of it.

I agree the feature has no real benefit and should be removed.

Maybe if anything a morale hit for hoarding money, that's it.

Why any penalty at all? Why did they put that in there in the first place? I mean the best ships can have a big price tag.

If this was actually removed, I will be so happy. I can take the rest of the GalCiv 2 economy system, but I absolutely abhor the 20,000bc cap

Guys, it was a joke. The 20k penalty was a holdover from GC1, and it really made NO sense for GC2. (since the game allows you to build a monster economy with hordes of stock exchanges, farms, ect...)

Also the flat 20k limit didn't make sense in that it was in no proportion to the size of your economy.

gallagher118 you've been very negative for a long time. I was just asking a question, I really don't like the 20,000bc cap however, if the devs choose to have it in the game I don't think that it would be because of this post it would eventually find its way back. So next time before you speak or in this case type please take in the consideration of others.

I was mearly asking the question if they changed this feature? Thank you.

I've not been negative, I've been critical of their going 90% of the way, and then deciding they were done. The game is great. I've never said otherwise.

Learn to take a joke.

I do believe that it was a joke with a touch of desperation. The 20K feature has been around for a long time and I've never met anyone that was particularly fond of it. If it was intentionally removed then I think most folks would be happy about it. However, it may have been removed inadvertently in which case most folks would be unhappy if this oversight were to be corrected, hence the "For God's sake man ...".

As far as not thinking that these posts don't influence what goes in or out of the game, I wouldn't be so sure. Also which direction it goes is totally unpredictable. IIRC it was a thread something like this that eliminated the morale benefit of the stock market. I think most people would be thankful if folks didn't poke sticks at changes that most people find beneficial. No criticism intended.

It's always been something I've just dealt with since it's always been there, but I wouldn't mind seeing it go.
