Taking on the Peacekeepers Mega Event

Peacekeeper Strategy

http://galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Peacekeeper_Strategy
I got this sweet event and decided I wanted to play it through even though it was frustrating as hell to see my incredible military might get squashed like a little bug. My game isn't done, but I've found some great uses for the Peacekeepers that I thought I'd share. But forum posts have a way of disappearing on you over time, so I've put all my knowledge into the wiki. Enjoy!

The link isn't as obvious as I'd like - it's called "Link" and shows up under my post above, but here's the wiki URL just in case: https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Peacekeeper_Strategy

Is this a rare event? I've NEVER had it happen.

I've had the GD jagged knife in about a 1/3 of my games, and the spy event in about 1/2.

Someone complained, that he has this event every game and is unable to survive it. It may be triggered by game style.

I think the pirates are worse. Peacekeepers I was able to quickly wipe out. Pirates on the other hand.....

Nver had the Pirates either...

Jagged knife = play evil
Spys ??
Pirates ??
Peace keepers ??

Does building influence bases help avoid the wrath of the PK? (change enemy territory into yours)

I love the pirate event if it occurs early enough. Just bundle all your ships up and keep them out the way, then design Transpors with maxed speed and good sensors and you can take out a civ by just letting the pirates do the hard work.

Sounds pretty much like my PK event. But PK ships stay in one area so you know a given planet is going to be "trapped" in an undefended state.

This is my first PK event and I think they're so damn tough because of the insane military that was in my galaxy when they appeared. Huge-hulled ships with 200 attack, 430 defense, and 31 speed are NOT easy to "mop up". Especially in fleets of 4-10 ships. But I bet if they occurred early on, it'd be much easier to get the tech to beat them.

In my game I was playing a pretty war-mongering race and had chosen to be Good. Maybe that's part of it.
