84Mb? Mine was about 1Mb, and it simply patched Galciv.exe

Cant see a readme, or anyway to tell if it worked successfuly though.

In Stardock, check the main Gal civ bar, the one you used to download it, should show a new version in "available" its about 1mb

With sdc open, click on software tab, then click galactic civ, then click on the history button near bottom left

grrr wish i could edit.

I mean look at the installed version, then next to it, it should show a newer available version, click on it, then install.

The 'readme' stuff is under the 'history' link at the bottom of the description on the left-hand side.

For me, GalCiv's date says 25/03/2003, but the history says 30/03/2003 and my update button is also greyed out. :notsure:

You need to have SDC enabled to show alpha/beta modules. The update is an alpha, if the 'a' in it's version number is anything to go by. :)

The changelog is accessable by clicking the "History" button over in the left hand pane on the software page.

I'm getting it now. It's listed as a 939KB update, which is not bad for the first real update I guess.
Just hope it doesn't kill my current game. ;)

Thanks for the tip on where to find the history, no wonder i cant find a readme.txt hehe.

My saved games are working fine. So i guess its a backwards compatible patch

Gotta love the speed at which the devs respond to user feedback and patch!

Your definitely refreshing SD fifth? Goto the options and enable Alpha/Beta releases, thats on by default on mine.

I cant even offer to put the patch up on mt FTP, as when i archieve it, it does the whole game

I'm showing 'pre-release versions', still no option to update, version's showing up as 1.01.029, no new version available. :(

Try right clicking in the Drengin.net window and selecting refresh. Try shutting SDC down and reloading it.
If neither of those work, then... ermm.. I dunno. :)

o.k if u want to see the update currently it seems that u have to switch to server ''US Atlanta'' from the tools--->settings--->connections menu...
You might also need to be on the Atlanta server. I swapped servers when I updated SDC, so that could be it...

Make sure you have the latest SDCentral.

Go to help->about and make sure it's .99c 151 build 4 (or later depending on when you read this).
