(TA Beta) Crash when crossfire mode enabled

Hi,

I cannot seem to run the beta of Twilight of the Arnor when I have my dual x1600 Radeon enabled on crossfire mode. I don't have this problem with the regular GalCiv 2 and Dark Avatar.

When I disable the crossfire mode, then I am able to get to the main screen of TA.

Regards,

Jorge

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The location you'll find the debug.err in varies depending on your game version:

Dread Lords, all versions:
C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2

Dark Avatar 1.5-1.6 (non-Vista):
C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar

Dark Avatar 1.6+(Windows Vista), 1.7+(non-Vista):
My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar

Twilight of the Arnor:
My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Addition to my last post:

after the crash I get the default Windows message box to send or not send a report to Microsoft.

I've had this type of problem before with another new game: World in Conflict (which I can only run in "single" card mode)

Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your monitor.

Also, go to Prefs.ini in My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor and change the DisplayWidth and DisplayHeight to match your desktop resolution and see if that helps.  You can also try setting Fullscreen=0.

Manually changing the resolution in Prefs.ini to match my desktop resolution fixes the crash problem. Also (for verification), when I change the resolution within the game (to NOT match my desktop) and re-start the game (TA), it crashes again unless I manually edit the Prefs.ini to match my desktop resolution again.

Hope this can be resolved in the final release.

Jorge
