New planetary improvements in TA (screenshot)

The first thing I did after DL'ing the beta, before even playing it, was open Windows Explorer and hunt for the new planetary improvement graphics. 'Impressed' doesn't even begin to describe it. Here's a teaser of the first few for your salivatory pleasure - I left the folder path at the top for those who have it and want to see the rest for themselves:

If I needed another reason to get this expansion, this would have done it for me!

I wonder what the Advanced/Ultimate Charging Stalks look like. And can they be used for planetary defence?

Yes, they will give attackers a real drubbing...

I can't say for sure, but if I were a starship captain set to invade a planet and saw their Charging Stalks, I'd think long and hard about what I was about to do.

"Captain to engineering, get us the heck out of here!"

There's something else hidden in the beta too. Take a look at the bottom of the StarbaseModules.xml in the Data/English folder. I'm sure you can guess what it is already

(PS - For those that would try, no, it doesn't work, even if you change the module type to be even be able to install it but it still looks nifty )

Adds the navigational systems and propulsion devices to the Terror Star
End of quote

Propulsion? At a speed of one (i am sure i have read this) It only takes a few cans of beens to get the TS going They need a navigational system for that?

"Men. Get your cans at the ready your descendants will be going to war! We can only hope by the time we have this lumbering beast in the target system they havent come up with a Snub-nosed Starfighter of two!"

ROFL

Hey, I imagine controlling a thing of that size would probably be pretty difficult. Plus, it still has to plot its course

And yes, it only has a speed of 1. You can give it a destination, but it never actually moves at the moment. Nor fire... but that's to be expected.
