TA Report Thus Far

So far it's looking good and I have yet to run into any stability issues. I'm playing as the Arceans and had just a few notes/questions.

Note : Severe retina bleeding is happening every time I colonize a planet due to the unique UI features. My race's color is yellow and so when the planet name comes up, highlighted, it is bright yellow with white letters. If you click the name it doesn't fix it, but using the arrows to move the cursor either direction does. As I'd like to keep what's left of my vision, I humbly ask you to change the color in that field when the planet name prompt comes up.

Question : I flipped a terran world and noticed my build queue had three things - 2 were upgrades to terran buildings that I knew how to do better at and one was a Market Center. I had yet to see market center as an available option to build on any of my planets. It was last in the queue, too. That made me curious - was that what the Terrans were working on prior to my flipping them and the upgrades automatically bumped to the front of the queue? I did research a tech that allowed me to build advanced market centers and that market center automatically queued up an upgrade and now blank tiles on my other planets have advanced market centers as a buildable option.

Bug: I alt-tabbed out of my current game to post this and it doesn't look like it is going to recovery from that very gracefully. I can click on GalCiv2 v1.80c Twilight of the Arnor on my taskbar, and the screen goes black. I can hear the music, and my mouse changes to the game mouse, but that's it.

This happens (exact description, game mouse cursor, black screen after alt-tab) for me in DA. If you press ESC it comes back... (well at least for me). Try that?

Also I don't pick Acreans because of the super hi-lighter power they seem to have (bright yellow ...)

perhaps a option to change the shades?

The Appearance tab when setting up your race has an option to change the UI color (I think it's labeled "Interface"). I like the Purple/Grey color the Korx typically have. Not to bright, but bright enough to be easily seen against the blackness of space.

Hrm, could have sworn I hit a few of the 'major' keys, ESC being one of them. I may not have, I'll give it a shot in the future.

Additional notes : Advanced Navigation Centers has a typo on the tech tree - it shows as "Advamced Navigation Centers".

Additional bugs : I clicked turn and lost my turn button. I tried saving/reloading to no avail. I then tried enter and spacebar, thinking I'd read somewhere that one of those was the manual end turn key. It seems to be and the turn button came back for my next turn.

Ok, so I played a bit longer and as is my custom I lulled the other races into a false sense of security by not wasting a penny on military expenses, instead pouring it all into production/research. Predictably, even the "good" terrans soon enough started asking for my lunch money, and when I flipped them off one too many times I had both the other races declaring war on me. To give the Terrans credit, they didn't declare for a turn or two after the Drengin.

No problem, I had my research facilities cranking by that point, so I stopped focusing on other techs and immediately went for missile defense, as that was the tech I'd seen both races use early on. I got up to the last rank in PD before their fleets were closing in on my worlds and the research time would prohibit me from getting any more techs researched before they arrived, so I went to the shipyard. I built up a nice little medium hulled ship (another trick I had up my sleeve for them, I'd gone down that tree a while back, and all the fleets I saw closing in on me were 3 small hulled ships) with 4 missile offense and 8 missile defense. I did sweat a small amount on the ship design as I'd noticed the Drengin had at one point switched over to mass drivers, so these ships might not fare as well against them as they would the terrans. I clicked 'save', named my ship, and immediately noticed ... it wasn't there! I looked under all, under user defined, nothing. I went back in, rebuilt it, this time picking 'save as template' just in case something had changed in shipbuilding. Still nothing! I'm playing as the Arceans (as noted in my first post) so I don't know if this is a race bug or a bug with TA as a whole. I can't imagine it's a total TA bug, as I did see someone post a write up on a whole game they played as the Terrans.

I saw this same issue with ships disappearing. Wonder if it's a leftover effect of the similar DA bug? I created a new ship altogether and gave it a name that was 100% unique to the world to be sure it wouldn't "collide" with an existing design, and that worked. The similarity of the workaround to the DA bug is why I'm thinking it could be related, but really I have no idea.

However, something just occurred to me - when I had the issue I was adding hyperdrive engines because I saw other ships with those. Maybe the arceans aren't supposed to get to use any engines on non-default ships, but there's no error message built in yet? I recall deciding to avoid the engines in my final design attempt in order to build a "better" ship....

I was able to build Arcean ships with engines. So that shouldn't be it...

I just got the ship saving/template mixing bug in DA right now. So that bug is still there, probably affecting TA.
I played whole games with Terrans fine (well fine in that the template bug didnt happen)
